LUXURIOUS COLOUR!
pure silk stoles, hand-woven, superb texture.
Sourced at fair trade handweaver's co-op.

AJRAKH is traditionally dyed with indigo and natural dyes, and printed on both sides with complex geometric and floral patterns using hand-carved wooden blocks. Stoles are cotton, and double-printed on both sides, embellished with handmade tassels. Sourced directly from award-winning Ajrakh printer.

Soft, flattering madder colour, AJRAKH stole printed on pure wool, with natural dyes. There are many stages of preparation, printing, and dyeing. Cotton kurta tunic in CLAY colour is handprinted with woodblocks, 3/4 length, piping details.

Background info

In case you are wondering Sister Bazaar is a real place,
a little string of 4 shops high up on a mountain in beautiful Mussourie, India. In Victorian times, the British Raj built several hospitals and sanitoriums around the healthy hilly district, and the Sisters (nursing nuns) lived in this pretty corner of the hill.


Many of you know our mother Sarah, and Mussourie is where she likes to summer, away from the searing heat of Jaipur, where she lives in a beautiful thatched cottage.	Sarah's verandah in Jaipur
